Does Faith Remove Fear?
In this article, we’ll explore how faith can be a potent antidote to fear.
Fear can manifest in various ways. This includes the primal instinct of fight or flight and the daily worrying that gnaws at us. Fear affects your mind and body by triggering behaviors from heightened alertness to anxiety disorders.
Fear often generates a response to real or perceived threats, and its impact can be significant by hindering your personal growth and well-being.
The Role of Faith in Coping with Fear
Faith is having belief, trust, or confidence in something. It can be a powerful coping mechanism when it comes to fear. It also provides a sense of assurance and hope that will reduce the effects of fear.
Broader society will say that faith can come in various forms such as religious faith, faith in oneself, and faith in the goodness of humanity.
I disagree with all 3 of those. The faith that I’m talking about is faith in God’s plan through Jesus Christ.
Organized religion is corrupt, we can’t save ourselves, and humanity is evil and will always be evil. A world that murders the unborn cannot be trusted to govern the born.
Jesus alone is worthy of your faith.
One of the most significant roles that faith plays in the face of fear is that of a comforting presence. The Holy Spirit provides solace in times of distress, offering the belief that there is something greater than ourselves watching over us.
This is the type of faith that can create a sense of security and trust in the universe, which can be reassuring when fear threatens to overwhelm you. He’s always there, and you’re never alone.
…”I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” so that we confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?”Hebrews 13:5-6 (NASB)
